An Absolute Treat of a Collage Workshop! What an amazing and fun-filled day! Anthea’s collage workshop was not only a creative escape, but also a chance to learn from a very talented artist.  Anthea generously shared her knowledge, along with some great tips and insights into the world of collaging. Who knew there was such an art (and even a bit of science) to simply ripping paper? I certainly didn’t. Ripping, it turns out, is a skill in itself—avoiding that tell-tale white edge means committing to a fast, clean tear. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the skill behind Anthea’s stunning work – she makes it look effortless! ​ The workshop was hosted in a welcoming studio at Big Mac Slabs Gallery, with plenty of hot drinks on offer to keep the creative energy flowing.  We kicked off at 10am, but time flew by—sometimes chatting, other times in a quiet creative flow, completely switched off from life’s usual demands. ​ Anthea guided us through each step with encouragement and care. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and well-organised, right down to the templates and a huge selection of backgrounds—so many that choosing just one felt like the hardest part of my day! Her thoughtful planning meant everyone left with a truly unique piece of art, and her gentle encouragement throughout the day helped build confidence in even the most hesitant artist. I left feeling uplifted, inspired, and so proud of what I’d created. If you're looking for a relaxing, creative day out where you can switch off and try something new, I’d definitely recommend this workshop. Whether you come with friends or go solo, it’s a great way to explore a new art form in a supportive and enjoyable setting.
